Interview transcription is totally different to standard one person dictation, it’s far more complex and therefore takes longer to transcribe. Factor into this the fact that a professional company should proof read the transcript against the original audio (we do). Our rates range from £1.40 per audio minute and go up to £2.00 per audio minute, the higher range of fees being for the most labour intensive work, such as conferences and webcasts. We charge a fair fee for the work involved and the professionalism of the team working with your audio. We don’t pay our ladies peanuts, because if you pay peanuts you get… All audio is carefully logged using a project management sheet, which clearly shows the amount of audio for each file/tape you send us, how much the per audio minute rate is and how much the total will be once the audio is transcribed. You are sent a copy of this, and all that is shown on the project management sheet will also appear on your invoice.
